NICE: Insufficient new evidence available on increased doses of imatinib for treating GIST
In draft guidance NICE has been unable to recommend imatinib (Glivec) at doses of 600 or 800 mg/day for people with unresectable and/or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) whose disease has progressed after treatment with 400 mg/day imatinib.

FDA: Pfizer Voluntarily Withdraws Cancer Treatment Mylotarg from U.S. Market
Pfizer Inc. today announced the voluntary withdrawal from the U.S. market of the drug Mylotarg (gemtuzumab ozogamicin) for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The company took the action at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration after results from a recent clinical trial raised new concerns about the product’s safety and the drug failed to demonstrate clinical benefit to patients enrolled in trials.

Limited benefit and high cost responsible for NICE's decision on lapatinib

Ipilimumab in Patients with Metastatic Melanoma
In a phase 3 study (published in NEJM), ipilimumab — which blocks cytotoxic T-lymphocyte–associated antigen 4 to potentiate an antitumor T-cell response — administered with or without a glycoprotein 100 (gp100) peptide vaccine was compared with gp100 alone in patients with previously treated metastatic melanoma.
